If this is your first visit to the Preschool Athlete website, I’m so glad you found us. My name is John Ozmun and I developed the Preschool Athlete to provide parents with ideas and resources to help their preschool-aged child experience success in sports as they grow older. The website has been designed particularly for those parents who really want to help their child lay the foundation for future sports participation but are just not sure what to do.
To get started I encourage you to read my very first blog post entitled Introduction: Building a Foundation to gain a more detailed understanding about the background and philosophy of the Preschool Athlete. Afterward I hope you take some time to explore the website. Click on one of the sport lockers and see how each is broken down to foundational skills and fitness factors. There are dozens of accompanying video clips that show developmentally appropriate activities associated with all of the sport skills and fitness components. Check out our resources link, as well.
If you think the Preschool Athlete could be valuable to you I encourage you to join our community so you can receive notifications when there are new blog postings and when new video clips and sports have been added. New resources, including books and equipment recommendations, are continually being added, as well. When you register with us you’re also given the opportunity to share your own thoughts, ideas, and feedback with us and our community of parents of preschoolers. Let us help you prepare your young child for a lifetime of sports participation and fun.
